Bacolod Football - Host-squad, EFVC bag Talisay bootfest

HOST- Minuluan Talisay Football Club emerged champion in the under 14 category –girls of the recently-concluded Minuluan Talisay City Festival of Football 2010 at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College football pitch.

Irish Navaja was also named the ‘most valuable player’ after the host-team bested other participating squads in the division. Rizal Football Club finished 1st runner up while Executive Village Football Club settled for 2nd runner up as Inocencio V. Ferrer Memorial State of Fisheries placed 3rd runner up.


On the other hand, MVP Deborah Randall led the Executive Village Football Club – A to the championship crown in the under 17 –Ladies while Domingo Lacson National High School settled for 1st runner up and St. John Institute FC and EVFC-B ended 2nd and 3rd runner-up, respectively.

In the under 12–boys, Calvary –Pontevedra won the final’s trophy following its victorious campaign in the tournament. Don Bosco Technical Institute – Victorias ended-up at 1st runner up followed by La Carlota City FC and CHMSC- Talisay. Clavary’s Cyrus Hotano was awarded the MVP title.

Meanwhile, visiting St. Anthonies FC – Dumaguete topped the under 15-boys with its MVP Ricky Ryan Ragay leading the squad’s best performance at the tourney as CHMSC- Talisay wasn’t able to maximize its home advantage as it only settled for 1st runner up followed by Escalante City and Don Bosco Technical Institute – Victorias.

The La Carlota City FC, meantime, bested the under 17–boys followed by Escalante City, Don Bosco Technical Institute – Victorias and Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School. La Carlota’s Jose Nathaniel Sanglay was named MVP.

In the under 11 -boys/girls/mixed skirmishes, Don Bosco Technical Institute – A won the title including the MVP award which was given to John Mitchell Valenciano. St. John Institute FC, Magallon FC and Talisay South Elementary School finished runner-ups.

At the tournament’s highlight, the Men’s Open, Sagay City FC surprisingly bagged the championship crown with Abner Uberas named as MVP. Atletico Bacolod FC, Victorias City FC and Talisay City – B settled for runner-ups.

A total of 117 young booters from different cities and towns in the province gathered in the said tournament.
