CEBU, Philippines - Queen City United and Abellana National School overcame the odds to emerge victorious in their respective divisions in the 6th San Roque Football Cup at San Roque field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
QCU defended its title in the premiere men’s open division after escaping with a razon-thin 3-2 victory via penalty shootout over S1 Football Club.
On the other hand, ANS bagged the boys 17-under title after defeating Inter-Cebu Football squad, 2-0, also via shootout.
It was a sweet redemption of sort for ANS as it fell prey to Bright Academy in the elimination round.
Meanwwhile, the men’s 38 final battle has been moved next week due to the heavy downpour that made the field unplayable. (FREEMAN)
