MANILA, Philippines – The LA Galaxy football team will be in town this December for an exhibition match with the Philippine Azkals.
Philippine Football Federation president Nonong Araneta, Azkals team manager Dan Palami and LA Galaxy president Thomas Payne, and Jinx Macabenta of US-based promotional firm Fuelcels Inc. made the announcement at a press conference at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City this afternoon.
The exhibition match will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Payne said the entire LA Galaxy, which will be bannered by football heartthrob David Beckham, will be in the country for the exhibition. The squad will arrive on Dec. 1.
Prior to the match, the visitors will hold a clinic for Bantay Bata kids on Dec. 2, also at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Tickets to the game will go on sale on the first week of November, organizers said, with the prices to be announced soon.
