CFA to send two teams to PFF tilt

THE CEBU Football Association (CFA) will be sending two teams to the Boys Under 14/Girls Under 13 Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Regional Festival of Football in San Carlos City on Feb. 24 to 26.

Assigned to coach the boys U14 are Jhong Perez of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Restituto Colina Jr. of San Roque Football Club.

Picked to coach the girls U13 are Claudith Zapanta of Don Bosco Technology Center and Marloe Solon of Montessori Lapu-Lapu.

The coaches must have a C license or those who took the C license under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

CFA’s Eleazar Toledo said that the festival will serve as a talent identification to beef up the country’s teams that will be seeing action in the AFC football festival this year.

Those who will be scouted in the boys U14 will be added to the Little Azkals lineup.

CFA would have sent the champion teams of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup, but the tournament is still ongoing so they scheduled a tryout early this month to comprise Cebu’s boys U14 and girls U13 teams.

Toledo said for the regional qualifiers of the U16, U19 and U23 PFF-organized tournaments that will kick off in March and April, the CFA will be sending the champion teams in the ongoing Aboitiz Football Cup./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
