By Olmin Leyba

Pachanga FC crushed Union Internacional Manila, 8-0, to fortify its grip of the second-division lead in the United Football League (UFL) Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Alfredo Gonzalez (51’, 85’) and Joshua Fegidero (78’, 89’) each scored a brace to lead Pachanga to the shutout win, its 19th against a lone draw for a leading 58 points.
The Pachanga booters, who also got goals from Robert Canedo (9’), Jovin Bedic (29’), Carmelo Tacusalme (66’) and Enrico Paolo Misa (87’), stood five points ahead of Diliman Victory Liner FC’s 53 (17-2-1).
Diliman picked up the full points in a 1-0 victory over Manila All-Japan over at the University of Makatifield, with George Twumi netting the marginal goal at the 36th minute.
Third-running Cebu Queen City United hacked out a close 3-2 verdict over Sunken Garden United to improve to 43 points.
Dan Villarico knocked in his second goal of the match in the 69th as the Cebuanos escaped with their 13th triumph against four draws and three defeats.
Villarico, a former Phl youth mainstay, opened scoring for Cebu with a strike in the 17th that Sunken eventually matched via Isan Akut’s connection in the 20th. Albert Nagkul scored in the 31st to give Cebu a 3-1 lead but Sunken’s Kevin John Sernicula booted in the equalizer nine minutes later.
Laos FC also emerged victorious via a 5-1 drubbing of Lions Meltique, with Rolly Lear making two goals (57’, 86’). The Laos booters improved to 7-3-10 and 24 points for joint sixth.
