Match report and pic : Kingdom of Football

Email from Kingdom of football after the friendly :

"from my perspective, they were defensively inept with the midfield and strikers unable to hold onto the ball, often passing to Cambodian players by mistake, and they allowed the home team to press forward almost constantly during the match. besides the late penalty they had two other shots on target, 1 in each half. after the loss in thailand i thought they must be poor, but on this evidence, they will be the whipping boys of the AFC cup. Cambodia are not a good team by comparison to the big guns in Asia but they were made to look good. I must admit i was surprised as Phils as a country have been producing some good results recently."

  3. Damn! They might as well withdraw from the qualifiers and save themselves and the rest of the country the embarrassment!

  4. walang pagbabago talaga! the whipping boys of Asia....now they even get crushed by Cambodia...no disrespect to Cambodia, but they are also a developing country and it seems they have done their homework much better.....this performance really makes no positive outlook to the future of Pinoy football. Let's all Euro based retire from the (senior) NT, not being available or just they don't like anymore and you have the same results/effects like the U-22.....the GUAM match also showed it that some players had less motivation and acted to egoistic...no team play, everybody wanted just to score...but that's another story

It's not just about them doing their homework because this is youth football and its a different animal compared to senior football. They may not be that great at senior level but they and practically the rest of SEA is ahead of us in terms of youth football.

  5. Don't worry. Just leave the youth development to Europe or America. There are more than 10 million overseas filipinos around the world and as long as our dual citizenship policy backs up, all we need to do is to find some pinoy blooded players and get them in Azkals jersey. How easy? lol Kevin Ingreso, Adam Reed, Luke Woodland etc are gonna be the next.

  6. Dont worry to much, its just a friendly? The Angeles twins didn't play. Why the hell Beloya, De Jong and Mark Hartman is not included in the line-up, I think they are still under 22?

    1. exactly! beloya, mark hartman, de jong are three of phil's best u22, excluding makes it worse for the team! and it shows.

    2. De Jong is not eligible for the U22's. It also wouldn't have mattered if the Angeles twins and Mark Hartmann were there. The problem at youth level for the Philippines is way deeper than just missing a few players!

people that thinks easy way out....while our development in a slow pace, and people love to see half bloods play. instead of developing the youths LOCALLY......this is what we feared even in the last two years.....masyadong bilib sa halfs tapos pinababayaan ang locals.....pag indi na met ang expectation katakot takot na insulto matatanggap ng mga locals..........

  8. Now you can see where the problem lies. And it starts with the PFF. Where can you find a federation wherein unexperienced coaches are entrusted with the second highest national team? Only in the Philippines and its not fun.

    1. sana theyll scout for better goalkeeper,a keeper and striker nalang muna na foreign...basta ang layu pa ng locals...parang di ganun kasi mas maraming magaling na goalkeeper dito sa negros at iloilo..

  9. sana tuloy tuoly na ang provincial games at scouting...better goalies at attacking players kasi the best defence is always attacking offense....

    1. beloya+hartman were our better attacking players. as to why they were excluded from the line-up, it baffles me why our best u22 players missed out the squad...

  10. De jong is too old , this is U22 qualifiers for next years 2013 finals. Its a U21 team in reality.

Hartmann and Beloya must have been dropped because of disciplinary reasons , but nothing has been confirmed.

Jeff Christiaens and Marwin Angeles is expected to join the team in Thailand tomorrow . OJ Porteria going back to USA for graduation , will go directly to Myanmar.

Marvin , with V : I think he is with the team already?
Next friendly is against Maldives U22 on 19. June in Thailand

  11. Angelo Verheyen Marasigan who was kicked out of the team for disciplinary reasons is still in Manila. I think he wants to play for the team.

  12. Roxas Code's comment [Jun 13 2046] is just about as dumb as it gets.

The millions of half or full Filipinos overseas in developed football nations look around and see players even in 3rd Division clubs earning eye-watering wages. Professional football is a job where you have limited time to earn what you can. Any Fil-for with real talent will prefer to stay where he is rather than fly halfway round the world to play for an NT at the lowest level which pays peanuts.

Cambodia obviously takes youth development seriously; it's about time the PFF did the same.

  13. Yes, we can take our grassroots development seriously if they kick out all the people in the technical department of the PFF. Continuously receiving higher allowances and has done nothing to alleviate the problems in the grassroots. Conducting too many courses but where are they now?

  14. Dan Palami is the team manager as always...
