4 Davao booters named to PH training pool

FOUR players from Davao City have been selected to the final training pool for the Philippine U19 men's football team after getting the nod of the coaches in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.
Leo Abunas, David Angelo Diamante, Michael Manalili and Charleston Uy made it to the 35-man selection after getting the nod of the coaches handling the PH U19 national training pool.
Mindanao selection head coach Albert Ryan Lim, in a phone interview with Sun.Star Davao, said he is proud of his players, whom he praised for really working hard in the final training pool.
Completing the selection are Tagum City's Alexis Joseph Juan, along with 21 players from Luzon, seven from Visayas and a player each from Cagayan de Oro City and Zamboanga City.
The 35-man selection will have their first in a series of friendly matches today as they play against San Carlos FC at the Julio Ledesma football field in San Carlos City.
It will be followed by their friendly against the booters of the University of St. La Salle tomorrow at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City. On Saturday, the trainees will play the Ceres FC at the same venue.
The 35 players selected will have a final training pool to determine the rightful players who will don the country's colors in the Asian Football Confederation U19 Championship Qualifiers in 2013.
