No Brotherly Love

The partnership of brothers Phil and James Younghusband has been undoubtedly solid. After all, they have been teammates from their teenage years in England until the height of their stardom with the national football team.
However, when asked whose team would be better when they battle against each other in a charity football match, neither man showed any brotherly love.
“It has to be mine,” Phil and James both said at the same time.
And with their teams boasting football stars and celebrities, it sure is hard to tell.
The two popular Azkal members drafted their teammates Saturday at the Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation in Alabang for the upcoming CLEAR Dream Match, which will see the brothers go head-to-head for the first time in a competitive football match.
After winning a coin toss, Phil drafted first and selected Kaya goalkeeper Saba Garmaroudi. Other players drafted to Team Phil are Park Min Ho, Byeong Jeong Yeol, Davide Cortina, Anto Gonzales, Dexter Versario and Roxy Dorlas of the Loyola Meralco Sparks; Armand del Rosario and Yannick Tuason of Kaya FC; Freddy Gonzalez, Janrick Soriano, Alvin Ocampo and Yves Ashime of Pachanga FC; Ojay Clarino and Wilson Munoz of Penson Stallion Giligan’s; Paolo Bediones and Daniel Matsunaga of Team Socceroo; Eric Tai of the Philippine Volcanoes, actor Rafael Rossel and radio jock Tony Toni.
Meanwhile, Kaya defender Anton del Rosario was selected by James as the second overall pick. His teammates also include Nate Burkey, Eric Dagroh, Jonah Romero and Nico Bolzico of Kaya; Patrick Bocobo and Patrick Deyto of Green Archers United; Raymark Fernandez and Andrew Santiago of Diliman Victory Liner; Patrick Ozaeta and Ref Cuaresma of the Sparks; Ronald Ong of Pachanga, coach Rudy del Rosario of the Philippine team to the Homeless World Cup, Andrew Wolff of the Volcanoes, Mikko Mabanag of Ateneo football team, Philippine Womens University standout Jolo Durian, model Marvin Kiefer, actor Jake Cuenca and radio jock Slick Rick.
Team Phil will have UFL president Randy Roxas as its assistant coach, while Team James will be helped from the sidelines by coach Vince Santos of the Sparks and Fr. John Cordero of the Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross.
The draft consisted of three rounds, with Phil and James taking turns on selecting 10 players in the first round from a pool of 40 comprised of United Football League stars and celebrities. Then, both drew lots in the second round and chose wildcard picks in the third to complete their respective rosters.
Proceeds of the celebrity football match will go to Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation in Alabang.
The CLEAR Dream Match is slated on August 25 at the University of Makati and will be aired on AKTV.
