Green Archers United forces draw with Kaya

Karl Decena, InterAKTV

Green Archers United Globe recovered from multiple misfortunes at the goal throughout the match to force a 1-1 draw against Kaya in the United Football League Cup Tuesday night at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
As the rain poured to start the game, Kaya held an early lead as Nate Burkey scored in the 5th minute to give Kaya a 1-0 edge, which it held for the majority of the match.
Green Archers United found several chances at the goal after that, but shots by Tating Pasilan, Nikko Villa, Reynald Villareal and Jesus Melliza failed to hit the net.
Kaya then committed a handball violation inside Green Archers United’s box late in the match, which led to a free kick by Pasilan. He then blasted a goal in the 88th minute to tie the game at 1-1.
Anton del Rosario attempted to score moments after to regain the lead for Kaya, but it went way off the mark.
With the draw, both Green Archers United and Kaya are now tied with one point apiece in Group B. Only the two squads with the best record from each bracket moves on to the next round of the tournament.
