Davao Football - Medvil, KMMPC down rivals


THE Medvil FC and Kilusang Magkaibigan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KMMPC) scored contrasting wins at the start of the second round of the Philippine Sports Commission-Davao Football Association (PSC-DFA) Premier League 1st Division on Sunday at the Tionko field.
Medvil beat Hooligans FC, 5-3, behind Frances Abrasaldo's back-to-back goals. His Medvil teammates Jomar Acedo, Jeffril Cabral and Raymon Padeda chipped one goal each.
Hooligans scorers were Ruelfred Napuran, Roland Manabit and Jayric Iligan.
KMMPC, meanwhile, hacked out a rousing 9-3 win over Blue Knights FC as Jerald Bierniza sizzled with six goals and Warren Ravanes added a hat trick to complete the rout.
In the main game, Francisco Iligan lifted Columbia FC's 2-1 victory over Philippine National Police (PNP) FC. Iligan's goal in the 88th minute broke the 1-1 standoff of both teams.
PNP's Manuel Aspelega started the ball rolling with a goal in the 17th but Al Dinn Tiboron countered late in the 70th to force the deadlock.
Games will resume on Sunday. (MLSA)
