Romgarjal tops Mindanao finals

EARLY favorite Romgarjal Football Club (FC) emerged champion at the 
close of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF)-Smart National Club Mindanao Finals held at the Tionko field over the weekend.
Romgarjal FC of Zamboanga del Norte held the Southern Mindanao Hooligans FC of 
Davao City to a 1-1 draw on Sunday following a 5-1 victory over M'lang FC 
of North Cotabato-Central Mindanao on Saturday.
Romgarjal, which won via default over no-show Advocates FC of 
Lanao del Norte Football Association in the opener, garnered a 
total of seven points to grab the top spot of the team standing while
 M'lang FC made six points to place second.
Both teams will advance to the Round of 16 where top two teams 
of Luzon and the Visayas and the top 10 squads of the 
United Football League (UFL) are also entered.
The Hooligans, which posted one win, one draw and one loss, 
finished third with four points.
Romgarjal was led by Sergio Alexis Pellerin, Renando Mantua Jr., 
John Lloyd Bastasa and Ryan Buenaflor while Steven Anotado, 
Greg Robert Lavega and Jeffrey Cabalinga took charge for M'lang.
Davao's Columbia FC was last year's Mindanao champion. (MLSA)
