Newly-promoted Pachanga Diliman FC stunned last season’s runner-up Kaya FC, 1-0, to emerge victorious in its Division One Debut in the United Football League Thursday night at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

Guamanian import Jason Cunliffe sank a penalty kick at the 29th minute to give Pachanga its lone goal of the match, which Kaya couldn’t recover from.

Veteran midfielder Anto Gonzales also made his presence felt in his return to Pachanga after a one-year loan to the Loyola Meralco Sparks, anchoring his team’s attacks which led to multiple chances at the goal.

Kaya had the chance to score the equalizer in injury time, with second half sub Antonio Ugarte setting up a free kick from the right flank. However, shots by Kaya failed to hit the back of the net.

With the victory, Pachanga gained three points to tie the Sparks, Global FC, Stallion Sta.Lucia for the early lead in the League table.
