Philippines vs Netherlands in Cebu ?

Fair Play: A chat with Dan Palami

"And of course I also asked him about “the big announcement” that was supposed to be made during the SAC-SMB Sports Awards and he said he didn’t which of the major plans in the pipeline will be announced by PFF president Nonong Araneta.

“Is it the friendly with the Netherlands or the plan to make Cebu the center for friendlies in the future? I don’t know and I don’t want to pre-empt Nonong,” he said.

Apparently Indonesia backed out of hosting the Netherlands, and Cebu could get that chance.  Emphasis on “could,” and yes, it’s THE Netherlands.

P.S. If you want to find out what The Announcement would really be, the 31st Sportswriters Association of Cebu-San Miguel Brewery Sports Awards will be held at the Northwing of SM City this afternoon, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m."

  1. European NT or club teams visiting South East Asia is all about BUSINESS, in other words, MONEY. Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia etc consistently bring them home, and they pay a lot for it.
So, if Indonesia backed out, Netherlands have no reason to fly half way around the world to have a friendly match in one of the shittiest footballing area on earth. I just can't believe how dumb PFF is..

    1. Agreed!!

We shouldn't have any business trying to bring such teams to the country at this point in time! Very poor sense of business and logic on the PFF's part!!

But of course, this is just nothing more than a rumour so far.

    2. this is a chance for all of us to see real football for once... if we want to grow we need to see stuff like this. how do we get people to strive for better football? give them something good and real to see. this is good for our football. yes we can see them on TV but nothing substitute the real atmosphere, real action, and real demonstration of what football should be like. this is good people. True we have to spend but this would have good lasting effect on our current and future players... we just gotta push the boundaries a little because these events do work for the better, especially in the developing stages...

Oh STFU!! You make it seem like this is already a done deal when it's not!! Typical and pathetic!! lol

And what makes you people think the Dutch would go to the Philippines and play in some shit hole facility?!?

It's typical of a lot of people and the PFF. Overly ambitious... and for the most part, too much for their own good!!
