UFL: Global FC too much for Socceroo

By Karlo Sacamos

GLOBAL FC sustained its sizzling form on Thursday when it outclassed Socceroo, 9-0, at the Emperador Stadium to stay within striking distance of the United Football League (UFL) leadership.
Mark Hartmann showed why he is the league's top scorer, firing four goals to pad his total to 18 and spearhead the second-running side, which once again moved a point behind Loyola Meralco in the nine-team standings.
Izzo El-Habib, new skipper Jason de Jong, Nap Bustillo, and Milad Behgandom also struck against the newly promoted side, which also gifted the winners with an own goal.
Socceroo failed to ride the momentum of its 4-3 upset of defending champion Stallion as it stayed in eighth spot.
Global established a three-goal cushion in the first half, before shifting to an even higher gear after the restart.
The result was the biggest margin of victory with a clean sheet so far this season.
