Release of Players for National Team Duty: 14 days before final of an international competition (as per Annex 1, Section 1, Paragraph 4e of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players)
AFC President’s Cup
The final stage of the AFC Challenge Cup will be held in Maldives from 19 to 31 May 2014. As this is a final competition, clubs are mandated to release players called for National Team duty as stated above.
Since the UFL has yet to receive the official notice of the player call-ups from the PFF and the NMT, there has yet to be a finalized schedule from Tuesday, 06 May 2014 onwards as the clubs to be affected by the call-ups is still unsure.
As agreed in the past, all 1st division matches will be suspended during AFF, AFC and FIFA organized competitions. As such, there will be no 1st Division matches from the 19 to 31 May 2014 due to the AFC Challenge Cup. Nonetheless, clubs with only one, two or three players called-up for National Team duty are encouraged to consider playing their matches prior to the final stage (06 to 18 May 2014) to avoid stocking up your respective club matches during the latter stage of the UFL League.
