OFFICIAL: Brad Grayson Wraps Up Sparks’ Transfer Activity

The Loyola Meralco Sparks ends its busy UFL transfer window with the signing of Englishman Brad Grayson, adding firepower to the club’s forward line. The young striker started his career with Doncaster Rovers in the second tier of English football, before enjoying stints in Sweden and Australia, where he managed fantastic goal scoring returns.
“Brad Grayson is a player in a position that we have been looking to add some depth to. With the loss of Fred (Gonzales) and Cham the burden has been on Phil (Younghusband) and Graham (Caygill)to score all the goals.  We have always preached the need for competition and with the addition of Napo (Bustillo) and Brad, it solidifies our attack with several options,” team manager Armand Del Rosario said.
Grayson was the top goal scorer in the youth team during his two seasons with Doncaster Rovers. He bagged 24 goals in 22 appearances with Swedish side Ange IF in the 2012-13 season, before turning in eight goals in 14 games for South Australian Premier League side Cumberland FC. In his last stint in England with non league side Stocksbridge, the young forward scored 14 goals despite the team’s struggling form. With his move to Loyola, the management hopes the Englishman’s scoring prowess can turn the tide in what has been an extremely tight title race.
“Brad is a player that came highly recommended by Adam Mitter. They played together in the past. After looking into his film and seeing his CV, coach Simon and I were able to make a decision that this is the guy we wanted to bring in. He’s a talented young striker with a track record of scoring and assisting goals no matter what level he has played at. We have high hopes for him. And as you can see, we are tied for 3rd place but by default, go to 5th because of the goal differential. No doubt this league title will come down to the wire and if we want a shot at this we need to be scoring goals,” said Del Rosario.
“The hope is to solidify what we feel is an already solid defensive line, while strengthening our team going forward – scoring more goals. With this added depth and talent we should have a very strong and competitive lineup to complete the UFL League and UFL Cup.”
Grayson is the club’s sixth and final signing in the midseason transfer window, following Curt Dizon, Napo Bustillo, Jake Morallo, Saba Garmaroudi, and Alvin Sarmiento
“I’m really looking forward to seeing these guys come together on the pitch.”
